Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service is the statutory fire and rescue authority for the county of Cheshire in England. Its responsibilities cover the unitary authorities of Cheshire East, Cheshire West and Chester, Halton, and Warrington, and the organization operates 28 fire stations. The service is based in Winsford, Cheshire, and is led by Chief Fire Officer Alex Waller along with a service leadership team, with oversight provided by the Cheshire Fire Authority, which is composed of councillors representing local communities in Cheshire, Halton and Warrington. As a public safety organization, it provides fire and rescue capabilities to protect communities, respond to emergencies, and manage related risk in the region. In March 2026, it received national recognition for innovation in public sector work, including a Gold award at the IESE Public Sector Transformation Awards in Westminster, in partnership with Cheshire West and Chester Council.
