Compass Health is a unique collaboration between two private practice groups (Compass Psychological Services, PLLC., and Compass Medical Services, PLLC.) working together in the same location to provide integrated treatment for substance abuse and a variety of psychiatric and behavioral health problems. Treatment here is based on an innovative model of behavioral healthcare: that the best care is provided not by one clinician, but by an integrated interdisciplinary team of specialists working collaboratively in the same setting. Our clinical team of mental health and medical specialists has the professional expertise to provide psychotherapy, medication, and medical care, as needed. And to address not only substance abuse, but also a wide range of emotional, behavioral and psychiatric conditions including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, ADHD, compulsive behaviors, and various other mental health problems. Because substance abuse and mental health problems commonly occur together, successful recovery from both problems is more likely when they are treated in a coordinated way. Our substance abuse treatment approach is flexible, individualized, and empowering. Unlike traditional 12-step approaches, we do not believe that everyone with an alcohol/drug problem has the "disease" of addiction or that there is only one legitimate pathway to recovery. We work collaboratively with each patient to develop a personalized treatment plan that addresses his/her specific needs. In addition to abstinence-based treatment for alcohol and drug abuse, we offer the unique option of alcohol moderation (harm reduction) for non-alcoholics who want to learn how to cut down on their drinking rather than give it up completely.
