D. L. Adams Associates is a consulting engineering and design firm, specializing in sight and sound.  We are experts in acoustics, audio-video design, and theatre consulting.  Our offices are located in Denver, Colorado; Kailua, Hawaii; and Kansas City, Kansas with the addition of Avant Acoustics, a D.L. Adams Associates Company. We have proudly provided our services in all 50 states as well as on all 7 continents.

Our engineers are experienced in acoustics, environmental noise assessment, noise control in the work place, performing arts facilities (including the design of performance lighting systems, stage rigging systems, and stage machinery), sound system design, multi-media and audio-visual (AV) system design, theatre consulting, and performance system design. 

In the areas of architectural acoustics we provide consulting and design services in room acoustics, sound isolation, mechanical system (HVAC) noise and vibration control.  We also conduct environmental noise assessment and abatement studies and industrial noise control engineering services.

In addition to acoustics, we bring a wealth of experience to our performing arts projects.  This experience consists of theatre planning, performance lighting and lighting control system design, stage rigging system design, stage drapery design, orchestra pit lift design, pit cover design, as well as seating layouts, sightline analyses and general theater consultation.
