Firesign Design is the Portland, OR-based freelance business of Kris Travis. Services include design and art direction for the web, print, branding, identity, display, and illustration. With over a decade of graphic design, project management and art direction experience, in both digital and print media, I am a motivated, organized project manager with excellent attention to detail and strong communication skills. My background includes working in-house as well as freelance, with a variety of clients and teams on identity, branding, display, and web design projects. As a designer with a passion for the material arts, I love integrating traditional art-making ideas and techniques with the digital design process. I am also fascinated by the way digital processes are changing how designers respond to–and shape–our cultural atmosphere. My love of working with materials first inspired in me a passion for print design. I have since enjoyed applying some of the print design principles to the web design process, as design possibilities within the web environment have grown immensely in the past decade.
