Locally owned and operated, First Telecommunications was formed in 1981 by Donald and Mark McKersie, as a family owned operation. Having taken over the business from his father in 1991, Mark has used his 37 years of experience in design, installation, and maintenance of Voice/Data Communications Systems to establish First Telecommunications as a leader in the communications industry. He attributes the on-going success of First Telecommunications to it’s’ highly qualified people, exceptional customer service, stat-of-art technology and loyal customer base.

 

As our clientele grew, so did our company, adding in 1989, our Kalamazoo service center, serving customers in the Kalamazoo, Battle Creek, and South West Michigan markets.  In 1995 FIRST opened its second service center in Lansing Michigan, servicing our customers in the Lansing, Jackson and Central Michigan markets. 

 

Today our corporate headquarters, located in Grand Rapids, Michigan, services all of the Western Michigan marketplace, and not only houses our corporate offices, but the inventory of repair and replacement equipment parts, a product demonstration room offering live demonstrations of each of our product lines, and the dispatch center for our staff of factory trained and authorized service technicians.
