Gavel & Dorn Engineering, PLLC (G&D) is an independent civil engineering and construction services consulting firm based in Charlotte, North Carolina. While our portfolio of projects is diverse, we specialize in construction administration and observation, sanitary sewer rehabilitation and flow metering. The firm was originally founded in 2003 as Gavel Engineering, P.A., by Kirk Gavel. The firm grew rapidly, and reorganized as Gavel & Dorn Engineering, PLLC on January 1, 2008, with Jason Dorn, P.E., Ph.D. bringing his considerable expertise in water resources engineering into the service line, which until that time had been centered primarily on construction services. Sean Mayo, P.E. joined the firm as a partner in 2011, bringing extensive and varied civil site engineering expertise to the firm. G&D is built upon a foundation of solid and mutually beneficial relationships with our clients. The majority of our work is repeat business. Client loyalty is achieved by listening carefully, meeting client needs, and providing value in all of our work. G&D is proud of its consistent growth during this time of economic challenges.
