Idaho News 6 advocates for the community by delivery of news and information in a timely fashion across all platforms. Idaho News 6 is driven by a multi-platform mentality that is the foundation of our newsroom.  The newsroom produces 47 hours of broadcast newscasts every week for ABC and Fox collectively. We are constantly pushing news and information for viewers to consume from live streaming during breaking news, severe weather, and push alerts through the KIVI app as well as dedicated channels on Roku, Apple TV, and Amazon Fire. We also provide updates to Amazon Alexa multiple time per day.
KIVI is the first broadcast television station in the Treasure Valley market to switch to a 100 percent virtual set, the set was launched in the summer of 2017.

The Boise's population is about 265,000. The metropolitan area, which includes 5 counties, has a population of approximately 709,000 and has been the fastest growing areas in the country.

Boise has a very large population of outdoor enthusiasts, from mountain biking, hiking, fishing, running, hunting and skiing.  There is also a large Basque population in the area with traditional restaurants and festivals.   Boise is also a unique city in that there is a river that runs right through the middle of town, the ski hill is thirty minutes away and there are more trails and greenbelt locations than you can shake a stick at.

Forbes Magazine named places Boise No. 6 in states job growth.
Micron and HP computer manufacturing facilities make up a large economic impact on the treasure valley and employ many individuals.  Headquarters for Albertson’s, Micron and Simplot are also located in the Boise.
