Imagine LA is a nonprofit on a mission to end the cycle of family poverty and homelessness. For over 18 years, we’ve walked alongside thousands of families as they move from homelessness to stability—helping them access the resources, tools, and support needed to build lasting financial security.

Out of this work, we created the Benefit Navigator—an innovative, human-centered tool designed by case managers for case workers and their clients. The Benefit Navigator seamlessly navigates the complicated web of public benefits and tax credits, developing crucial safety nets and pathways out of poverty along the way. 

Built in partnership with USC’s Center for Social Innovation and grounded in real-world expertise, the Benefit Navigator provides trusted, up-to-date information to support economic mobility. It’s more than a tool—it’s a step toward systemic change. By collecting benefit-use data, we aim to drive policy improvements that eliminate benefit cliffs, expand access to temporary relief, and promote long-term financial sustainability for families.

Together, Imagine LA and the Benefit Navigator are reimagining how we fight poverty—through practical tools, deep community engagement, and lasting impact.
