ISLP strategically engages highly experienced lawyers to advise clients, on a pro bono basis, within carefully selected and structured projects. We believe that development is most sustainably advanced through trust-based collaboration and the engagement of both public and private stakeholders and decision makers. Thus, our typical clients are low-income governments, civil society, and social entrepreneurs and impact investors who are not otherwise able to access comparable legal support.  

Examples of ISLP support include direct transaction and negotiation support, tailored knowledge sharing and capacity-building tools (publications, workshops, toolkits, and guidelines), legislative and regulatory review and drafting support, and comparative legal research. ISLP's work is demand driven, bespoke, and practical. 

ISLP constructively engages stakeholders from various sectors and industries. Our expertise spans intersecting focus areas: Natural Resource Management, Energy, Investment & Trade, Civil Society Engagement, Accountability & Transparency, Anti-Bribery & Corruption, Alternative Dispute Resolution, Media Law and Freedom of Expression, Innovative Finance & Social Enterprises, Responsible Technology, and Taxation.
