Founded in 1851, the Kentucky Medical Association is a professional organization for physicians across Kentucky. Based in Louisville, it represents clinicians and the patients they care for, with the aim of supporting high-quality, affordable healthcare and addressing needs across rural and urban communities. It brings together solo practitioners, academicians, and large multi-specialty groups as the only state association that covers every specialty and type of medical practice in Kentucky. Operating within the hospitals and health care sector, the KMA serves as a statewide coordinating body for medical professionals and their standards. In February 2026, it launched a statewide digital initiative aligned with American Heart Month, generating more than 2.5 million impressions statewide.
