Mitchell Studio, LLC is an architecture firm focused on the design of buildings expressed in traditional styles and rooted in the vernacular of place. Founded by Sam Mitchell in 1996, and located in New Haven, Connecticut, the firm has completed custom homes and renovations in New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Georgia, and Florida. Recently, Mitchell Studio has added interior design to the scope of the practice, and small institutional and commercial buildings to the range of the work. Mitchell Studio has established a design approach that is characterized by a meticulous attention to detail, an enthusiasm for the design process, and a commitment to superior service. From the first freehand concept sketches, and rough three-dimensional study models, through highly specific construction drawings and specifications, each project is developed in a collaborative process with the client. As a result, the completed buildings are tailored to the sensibilities of the client and shaped by personal patterns of living.
