Since its founding on October 20, 1969, and throughout its activity, MSF has lead the implementation of large scale engineering projects of great technical complexity, and has made an unquestionable contribution to the modernization of Portugal and the different countries in which it operates.

One of the company's most valuable assets is the vast experience which it has acquired. This experience enables the organisation to participate in all of the diverse construction segments and specialty areas including; dams, tunnel, irrigation networks, conduits and canals, maritime works, roads, highways, bridges, viaducts, railways, airports, industrial construction and building construction.

Aware of the need to expand its capabilities beyond the Portuguese frontiers, MSF began to internationalise in 1997 with the creation of its International Division and the election of primary target markets in Africa and Central and Eastern Europe. Since its founding, the company has been developing projects in Angola, Bulgaria, Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Ghana, Kazakhstan, Moldavia, Mozambique, Namibia, Oman, Poland, Qatar, São Tomé and Principe, Senegal, Sierra Leone and United Arab Emirates.
