Currently, he focuses on improving education opportunities and reducing recidivism. He is the incoming Chairman of the Board of Directors of Barrio Logan College Institute, an after-school tutoring and mentorship program that has sent 100% of its kids to college over the organization’s 25-year history. And he serves on the Board of Rise Up Industries, which provides job training to formerly incarcerated gang members.
