Ooredoo Maldives is a telecommunications company based in the Maldives with a workforce of 501–1000 employees. It provides voice and data services to both consumers and businesses in the Maldivian market. The company began operations on August 1, 2005 as Wataniya Telecom Maldives Private Limited, the second mobile service licensee in the country. It was rebranded to Ooredoo Maldives Private Limited in December 2013 and converted to a public limited company in October 2016, after which it was re-registered as Ooredoo Maldives Public Limited Company. The company is part of the Ooredoo Group, an international telecommunications provider; the Ooredoo brand was valued at USD 3.1 billion and listed among Brand Finance's top 50 telecom brands in 2017.
