The Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) is a global community of experts drawn from more than 400 companies, government agencies, research institutions, and universities who tackle location-based challenges. Members collaborate to create open standards and advance interoperability, moving ideas from concept to real-world solutions through working groups, testbeds, pilots, and code sprints. Based in Arlington, Virginia, the organization serves governments, businesses, and communities worldwide, helping ensure that systems, data, and technologies can work together to support better decision-making. As a defining industry association in the geospatial space, it brings together diverse sectors to address integration and interoperability across the field. In 2026, the consortium announced the publication of the openEO specification as an OGC Community Standard.
