PACT Humane Society is a no-kill, all-volunteer, not-for-profit animal shelter and educational organization based in Bloomingdale, Illinois. It was founded in 2000 in Downers Grove and operates from an adoption center inside a Petco in Bloomingdale, with some animals placed in foster homes when space is limited. The group focuses on rescuing cats and dogs from animal control facilities that would otherwise face euthanasia and accepts older or medically compromised animals, including those with conditions such as FIV or diabetes. Since its founding, it has supported thousands of adoptions, placing more than 4,000 cats and dogs into homes. Volunteer involvement is central, with volunteers performing daily animal care and socialization, adoption counseling, program coordination, and humane education. The organization is led by Cherie Travis and supported by a management team drawn from diverse professional backgrounds, operating alongside a large base of volunteers.
