Change Agents Change First is my way of giving processes and tools to make helping others more effective and enjoyable. There are many helpers (care coordinators, counselors, social workers, teachers, justice officers, etc.) out there doing their best to serve those touched by our public sectors/systems (welfare, employment, mental health/substance use, justice and education). With my 35 years in the helping profession I learned that our best approach is one that respects the equality, power and intrinsic resources of others; while building on their strengths, and those of the community that surrounds them. For helpers to be most successful requires an organizational culture of care that supports these values. I would welcome the opportunity to offer what I have learned to grow helpers into change agents who can build that culture of care and ultimately become better helpers. Let's find out how!
