Republic Polytechnic (RP) is a higher education institution in Singapore, located at 9 Woodlands Avenue 9, Singapore 738964, and it employs between 1,001 and 5,000 staff. It was established on 1 August 2002 through The Republic Polytechnic Act 2002 by Parliament. RP was the first educational institution in Singapore to apply Problem-based Learning across all diploma programmes. The polytechnic comprises seven schools and two academic centres offering 37 full-time diplomas across fields including Applied Science, Engineering, Business, Hospitality, Infocomm, Sports & Health, and Technology for Arts, Media & Design. It also operates the Academy for Continuing Education, which provides lifelong learning programmes for adult learners, and maintains industry and academic partnerships, including MoUs with organizations such as Therme Group and Marina Bay Sands and collaborations with NTU, the Institute of Technical Education, and other polytechnics.
