Roundabout Theatre Company is a not-for-profit performing arts organization based in New York City, founded in 1965. It operates five theatres on and off Broadway, presenting a mix of revivals and world premieres. The company has earned nine Best Revival Tony Awards and supported the emergence of notable playwrights such as Stephen Karam, Lindsey Ferrentino, Steven Levenson, Joshua Harmon, Ming Peiffer, and Mansa Ra. Its mission centers on sustaining classics, fostering new works, and educating future generations through programs designed to lower barriers to theatre access and to cultivate collaboration among a diverse artistic team. Educational initiatives reach about 15,000 students and more than 1,000 teachers annually, and the organization maintains an open archive documenting more than five decades of production history; in 2026 it announced Christopher Ashley would become artistic director.
