Runnymede Borough Council supports a population of around 87,000 residents in north Surrey. We cover a stretch of beautiful countryside to the west of London, with a handful of large towns - Addlestone and Chertsey in the south, and Egham in the north. 

With strong rail links to London and the rest of the South East, Runnymede is a thriving and prosperous borough that welcomes many commuters, visitors and tourists every day. We are proud to be the home of Magna Carta, and the beautiful Runnymede fields and Pleasure Grounds. 

Through our policies and activities, the Council aims to improve our economy, enhance our environment, develop our organisation to be efficient and effective, and to support local people.

We take a pro-business approach and have a portfolio of commercial properties which provide an income stream to support public services. Our residents enjoy the lowest council tax in Surrey, along with some of the best and most wide-ranging additional services.
