About us:
Founded in the year 1908, Rupp is a family-run business which has grown to become Austria’s largest dairy producer. Its two brands, Rupp and Alma, offer spreadable cheese and natural cheese. We are also active in the B2B sector. More than 90% of our products are exported to 65 countries around the world. Our main production facility, located in Hörbranz in the province of Vorarlberg, was opened in 2008.

Our history
Our family’s passion for cheese-making has been passed down through three generations. Company founder Josef Rupp I started making cheese at the age of 13. He used the money earned to attend a school in Switzerland specialising in milk and dairy production – an investment which certainly paid off.
It was in the 1950s that the foundations were laid for today’s success. Josef Rupp II paved the way for the popularity and success of Enzian Käsle and other spreadable cheeses by Rupp. His wife, Gertrud Rupp, continued her husband‘s mission with a series of clever and visionary decisions. Today, the company is run by the third generation of the Rupp family and has grown to become a global player.
The Alma brand has been part of Rupp since 2008. It sells mountain cheese produced by around 80 of the 130 mountain dairies in Vorarlberg and runs four of its own dairies located in Pfänderstock and Bregenzerwald.

Our philosophy – quality products from the finest cheese
The best product – the best staff – the best partners
For many decades, “Das beschte Eck vom Käs” has stood for quality products from the finest cheese. Another key ingredient to our success as a family-run business is our enthusiastic team of staff with their knowledge and expertise.
That is why it is so important to us to give members of staff at Rupp the opportunity to develop their personal and professional skills. We want innovative, creative and responsible people to be able to develop their skills and realise their potential with us in an attractive working environment.
