San Diego Hunger Coalition works collaboratively with 500+ community partners to create equitable access to food assistance in San Diego County through research, education, and advocacy. With over 824,000 San Diegans (1 in 4) experiencing nutrition insecurity, 214,000 of them children, 170,000 older adults 60+ and 135,000 living with disabilities, we're committed to ensuring every individual has access to three culturally appropriate and nutritious meals every day. The San Diego Hunger Coalition works to: 1. Develop a more efficient & equitable network of food assistance programs by eliminating the barrier historically underserved communities face. 2. Increase participation in government-funded assistance programs to eliminate the meal gap. 3. Advocate for legislative and administrative policies that reduce hunger and increase access to healthy food.
