The Senior Care Pharmacy Coalition is a small nonprofit advocacy organization founded in 2014 and based in Washington, DC, focused on representing the legislative and regulatory interests of independent long-term care pharmacies and the vulnerable patients they serve, including many rehabilitation-oriented individuals. Its members operate across all states and collectively serve about 850,000 patients daily, with long-term care pharmacy services expanding beyond traditional institutional settings to assisted living facilities and other community-based environments. No other organization in Washington concentrates exclusively on the public policy priorities of this evolving LTC pharmacy sector.

The group's mission is to help federal lawmakers, regulators, and the broader health care community gain a deeper understanding of the unique value LTC pharmacies bring and their role in addressing the nation’s demographic, fiscal, and health policy challenges. It pursues bipartisan, data-driven policy solutions aimed at protecting patients, improving care quality across a shifting care continuum, and addressing disparities in care, while strengthening the economic viability of independent LTC pharmacies to sustain their ability to serve vulnerable populations and influence national health policy objectives.
