Excavation, infrastructure, and demolition have been part of S&L's repertoire for over three decades. 

We build communities and the infrastructure that supports them. As a general contractor, S&L Inc. specializes in public parks, utilities, roadwork, trails, and environmental restoration. We also provide excavation and subgrade services as a subcontractor.

S&L Inc. began as a humble neighborhood lawn mowing service in 1977.  Within a year, founders Scott and Steve Larsen ventured into the landscaping service business.  Initially established with 2 employees, S&L started adding part-time help in the form of local college students. Steadily they won small, residential landscaping jobs. Initial work included sprinkler installations, tree and shrub planting, and sod laying. As the size of jobs increased, S&L invested in small trucks, backhoes, and other pieces of small equipment.

Within a few short years, S&L leveraged its success and entered into commercial excavation. The company was officially incorporated in 1985 with Scott and Steve Larsen as partners. Since then, S&L has worked on over 500 projects as both a general and subcontractor. Our efforts to provide the best service available has built lasting relationships with many owners, cities, contractors, and suppliers. S&L founders Scott and Steve Larsen continue to work on and manage projects, while maintaining a level of skill and expertise developed over the company’s lifetime.
