Snowbird Wilderness Outfitters exists to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ through the exposition of Scripture and personal relationships in order to equip the Church to impact this generation. SWO is located in the mountains of western North Carolina and is a year-round discipleship ministry that offers weekend retreats and 10 weeks of summer camp, serving over 12,000 annually. During the summer season, Snowbird hires over 100 college-age adults to serve as small group leaders and recreational staff, as well as 40 high school students to train under the LMNT program. In addition, the Snowbird Institute is a program designed to train college-aged students in relational, Gospel-centered ministry, while equipping them with a Bible-based, theological education, in addition to vocational training in a healthy Christian environment. Everything we do at SWO, from whitewater rafting, rappelling, and climbing to using relevant drama, breakout sessions, and worship, is used as a platform to teach God's word and to build long-lasting relationships with students.
