SPCA Albrecht Center for Animal Welfare is a private, nonprofit organization in the Environmental Services industry, based in Aiken, South Carolina, founded in 1935. Its activities include sheltering adoptable pets, providing quality, affordable veterinary care to the public, educating the community about proper animal care, supporting efforts to combat animal abuse, and forming partnerships with rescue groups and animal control entities. The organization aims to help homeless animals find homes and to provide shelter and medical care for animals that are abused, sick, or in need, relying on local donations rather than regular state or federal funding or support from the ASPCA. Throughout its more than eight decades of operation, the center has placed thousands of needy animals into loving, forever homes with the assistance of staff, volunteers, and a dedicated board. In November 2024, it announced the Vets 4 Vets fund to help veterans cover veterinary care for their pets.
