The 5812 Group is a Chicago based investment management company providing real-estate investment opportunities that are mutually beneficial to investors and the communities in which we work.

Affordable housing is broken. The current system providing housing to low-income individuals isn’t working. It is exemplified by housing developments that cost $11.5 million yet only provide 30 units of housing. It is wonderful that 30 families now have housing they can afford, but it is not a sustainable solution for the tens of thousands of families currently in need of affordable housing.

We have created a model to address the need for affordable housing while providing financial returns our investors. By utilizing investment capital, we are able to provide quality housing in low-income communities at a scale no non-profit could match. We also partner with foundations and local governments through social investment vehicles such as PRIs. These investments allow us to increase the amount of subsidies available to the residents in the community.
