The experience of trauma is universal. Access to support is not. Around the world, nearly everyone will experience trauma in their lifetime, yet 93% of people in crisis go without adequate care. When help is needed most, barriers like cost, stigma, language, and workforce shortages make support difficult or impossible to access. The Parasol Cooperative is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization transforming how people and organizations design and deploy technology, including artificial intelligence, to make care more accessible and help humans thrive. Our trauma-informed tools, Ruth and SafeConnect, help individuals identify and navigate crises while strengthening organizations’ ability to connect with and care for those in need. Founded on the lived experience of violence survivors and advocates, and grounded in the expertise of engineers and designers, we build solutions that are both radically empathetic and technologically robust, helping connect those who need support with those ready to provide it.
