Open since 1940, Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park (TSMP) is one of the oldest running motorsports facilities in the country, and has continuously led the way in the sport - introducing the first purpose-built road course and first asphalt high-banked oval in America. TSMP today includes NASCAR racing on our 5/8 mile Oval, a 1.7 mile Road Course, a first class Golf Club, our Clubhouse restaurant with a banquet and catering facility, our exclusive Drivers Club, and an Exotic Car Driving Experience.

In 2015, TSMP held four NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour races including the season opener in April and the final championship race of the season in October at the World Series. TSMP also has four NASCAR Whelen All-American Series divisions that race on a regular basis, including the Sunoco Modifieds, Late Models, Limited Sportsman and Mini Stocks.

The road course features sports car and open wheel racing, including an Open Wheel Weekend in May and the Vintage Motorsports Festival in June.

TSMP is centrally located between Boston, Providence and New York City, and just 45 minutes from Mohegan Sun. Although we’ve been a racetrack since 1940 and a golf course since 1947, we never stop improving.

Come see for yourself. Join us for racing, golf outings, corporate events, drinks, lunch, dinner – or simply the best ice cream in the region. It’s our goal to provide you with the finest, most complete racing, entertainment and leisure experience in New England.
