We are harnessing the power of biology to convert agricultural waste streams into specialty chemicals.

Every glass of orange juice generates half a pound of unseen peel waste. This adds up to an enormous 20 billion pounds of peel waste a year or roughly 4,000 Olympic-sized swimming pools full of peel! For disposal, it is sent to farms as cheap cattle feed or shipped to landfills. Similar stories exist for 150 billion pounds of sugar beet pulp and 22 billion pounds of grape pomace generated worldwide by the sugar and wine industries each year.

We are rewriting these stories by developing technologies that extract more value from these wastes. Our technologies allow us to transform these wastes into renewable, eco-friendly products.
