Altarum is a nonprofit organization focused on improving health outcomes for individuals with limited financial resources and populations underserved by the health care system. It primarily supports federal, state, and local government entities in planning and implementing essential public health and health care service delivery programs. Rooted in public-sector innovation since 1946, the organization blends expertise in public health and health care delivery with services such as technical assistance, practice transformation, training, quality improvement, applied research and analytics, health and science communications, data modernization and interoperability, and technology development and implementation.

Altarum's enterprise comprises four operating divisions—Population Health, Public Health Systems, Palladian Partners, and Altarum Medicare Medicaid Services for States—each contributing distinctive capabilities to client projects. Based in Novi, Michigan, the nonprofit has pursued collaborations with government and health care institutions, including a 2025 partnership with Amazon Web Services to develop the PHusion platform to address fragmented public health data.
