BINTER CANARIAS is a Spanish airline operating in the Airlines and Aviation sector, based in Las Palmas, Canary Islands, Spain, and employing between 1,001 and 5,000 people. The company began operations in March 1989 in the Canary Islands with a CN-235 fleet and operated intra-island routes among Gran Canaria, Tenerife, La Palma and Fuerteventura, later adding Lanzarote and El Hierro, and after the opening of La Gomera airport in 1999 it started a route to that island. It was established as a regional airline and remains the only carrier currently serving all eight Canary Islands airports. Since 2005 it has pursued international expansion, establishing connections to Marrakech, El Aaiún and Madeira, and subsequently adding Casablanca, Agadir, Cabo Verde and Lisbon, with a planned connection to Banjul starting in January. The company maintains a public online presence at its website and has received industry recognition, including being named Regional Airline of the Year in Europe by ERA in 2024.
