The Bonneville Power Administration is a federal nonprofit wholesale power marketer in the utilities industry, based in Portland, Oregon. It sells electricity generated from 31 federal dams and one nuclear plant to millions of consumers and businesses in eight states and operates about three-quarters of the region’s high-voltage transmission grid. BPA funds one of the largest fish and wildlife programs in the world and, with its partners, pursues energy savings and operational solutions to maintain reliable and affordable energy for the Northwest. The agency employs between 1,001 and 5,000 people and maintains locations across Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Montana, while also offering Pathways Internship and Recent Graduate programs and supporting veteran recruitment. As of May 14, 2026, Robin Furrer was named acting administrator and CEO of BPA.
