Coindu works exclusively in the automobile components sector, producing and supplying leather, fabric and PVC upholstery, also producing interior accessories, such as armrests, headrests, and door panels.
Established in 1988, it essentially focused on the production of big bags for various applications. In 1992, it invested in a production unit in Joane, V. N. de Famalicão, thereby initiating its production exclusively dedicated to the automobile industry.

COINDU’s activity until today has been characterized by high standards of quality, flexibility and competitiveness – characteristics highly appreciated by the automobile industry.

However, it was from 2000 onward that Coindu undertook an intense growth process that resulted in its positioning in the European market, where it has developed a significant market niche.

In January 2001 it inaugurated a new manufacturing unit in Arcos de Valdevez with new contracts and clients, sparking strong growth in its business and doubling its annual sales in 2002.

In 2003 Coindu obtained its ISO TS 16949 certification.

In mid 2005 it began internationalizing its production by establishing Coindu Romania SRL with a new manufacturing unit in Arad, beginning production with 150 workers.

COINDU continued its internationalization strategy in 2015, opening a new plant in Mexico. In addition, we have achieved a new direct supply with new major brands.

In 2019, Richina Group acquired COINDU. While COINDU has always been supportive of a modern and international management, without the expertise and commitment of its employees the company would not have had its continued success. In the same year, COINDU expanded its business to China.
