Contra Studios is a multi-arts production, rehearsal, events and presentation facility located in the Chelsea neighborhood of New York City with multiple-use areas suitable for Film, Photography, Video Production, Sound Design, Fashion and Dance. Founded in 2010, Contra Studios brings a comfortable, relaxing boutique atmosphere to the studio world, creating an environment conducive to helping our patrons achieve their creative goals. Contra Productions is our in house, full service, multimedia creative shop with its own production/post-production facilities, where we combine state-of-the-art technology with cutting-edge talent. From creative services, videography/photography, and casting to editing, post and music production, Contra is a hub for media production from the conceptual stages to the finished product. Our space includes two large flexible-use studios, equip with lighting, multiple camera, video setup, sound system, recording facilities, and audience accomodations, along with production rooms, editing suites, and kitchen facilities. Studio 1 features a 20 ft. corner cyclorama wall, and is frequently used for green screen applications in special effects for videos and film/image compositing.
