Food Bank of Alaska partners with the food industry to rescue surplus food from grocery stores, wholesalers, producers, farmers and the fishing industry. We also collect food donations from the community and manage government food programs. This food is distributed statewide to 150 partner food pantries, soup kitchens, senior centers and children's programs, ensuring our neighbors in need have access to nourishing meals. Founded in 1979, Food Bank of Alaska was established with the belief that no one should go hungry and a mission to prevent good food from going to waste. Today, 1 in 8 Alaskans, including 1 in 6 children, faces hunger. Your generosity enables us to provide nutritious food to children, families, and seniors who need it most. We welcome volunteers who are eager to make a difference. For corporate donations and event sponsorships, please contact us to learn how you can support our mission to eliminate hunger in Alaska. Together, we can make a lasting impact on our community!
