The Gordon is one of the oldest and largest regional TAFEs in Victoria; a public vocational education and training organisation operating under Victorian Government legislation. 

The Gordon is an icon in Geelong, and continues to build on this history of success, with the vision to be the first choice in our markets and the leader in our field. The Gordon provides progressive and innovative training in Geelong, Werribee, and around Australia and overseas.

The Gordon was recognised as the nation’s Best Large Training Provider in 2017. This incredible achievement was made possible thanks to the dedication and efforts of staff to provide the best possible student experience.

For over 130 years, The Gordon has been supporting and building the skills needed by industry, now and into the future, and continually contributes to the economic and social well being in the communities we serve by delivering the highest quality vocational education and training across a range of industries and sectors.

The Gordon currently offers more than 300 accredited and specialist courses across a wide range of disciplines through apprenticeships, school-based apprenticeships, VET in schools, traineeships, certificates, diplomas, and advanced diplomas. Over 40 Gordon qualifications articulate into more than 60 degree programs at Deakin and other universities, creating pathways from vocational education to higher education for many students. The new Geelong Tech School, a state government initiative in innovative STEM education for secondary students, is located within The Gordon.

Over 13,000 students study with The Gordon each year via flexible options, including on-campus, off-campus, full and part-time, online, and in the workplace. We also create customised training programs to meet the specific needs of employers in a variety of industries.
