J.S. Thompson Engineering, Inc. provides quality structural and geotechnical engineering and exceptional residential design for additions and renovations to existing homes as well as new custom homes.   Using our experience in design, engineering, and homebuilding, we offer creative designs for all styles of architecture.    

Our firm was founded in 1998 and has enjoyed success based on quality, knowledge, precision, and customer service.  We provide a unique experience for the contractor or home owner, starting from the beginning of the design process, to the end of the construction of the project.   We also provide structural engineering for plans developed by other designers, architects and homeowners.

Our services include site inspections to evaluate issues noted in home inspection reports and existing structural problems as well as inspection of new construction to address plan modifications, deviations from the original design and code violations.  We perform soils testing and footing inspections for new construction and foundation failure analysis for existing structures.  We specialize in designing foundations for difficult building sites.
