Natural Products Canada is a not-for-profit biotechnology organization focused on advancing Canadian natural product innovations that can replace synthetic materials, with benefits for people, animals, and the planet. It serves as a hub for strategic insights, programs, and services aimed at participants across Canada’s natural product landscape. The organization defines natural products as biologically based solutions derived from naturally occurring molecules, applicable across sectors such as food production, sustainability, human and animal health, and water and waste management. NPC seeks to build and support Canada’s Natural Product Innovation Cluster, a community that includes SMEs, research institutes, corporations, investors, government departments, and service providers to develop and commercialize these innovations. It provides advisory services and commercialization programs to advance high-potential Canadian innovations toward market readiness and facilitates connections with international and domestic companies and investors through activities such as scouting, personal introductions, events, and reports. Founded in 2016 and based in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, NPC works with node partners including PEI BioAlliance, the Institute for Nutrition and Functional Food, the University of Guelph, Bioscience Association Manitoba, Ag-West Bio, and BioAlberta.
