Wine and Spirit World has been family-owned and operated for 60 years. Owner Carlo Russo's career began in 1947 as one of the owner/pharmacists of the Ho-Ho-Kus Pharmacy; a store similar to a small department store, which included a soda fountain that served breakfast, lunch and dinner. The pharmacy had a liquor license, and Carlo turned his attention towards wine.

Carlo was an innovator in his time, educating customers, conducting wine seminars, and leading wine tours to Europe. Quickly, Carlo Russo's Wine & Spirit World was acknowledged as one of a very select group of fine wine shops in the greater Metropolitan area. Carlo's son, Chuck, joined the team in 1973 and now owns and operates the store, continuing the tradition and legacy left by his father. Together with his wife Maria, and a knowledgeable staff, the family continues to provide excellent service and impeccable wine expertise to our valued customers.
