GlobeMed was a civic and social organization based in Evanston, Illinois, focused on advancing global health equity by mobilizing students and grassroots leaders to improve health worldwide. The organization ran a network of university chapters, with each chapter partnered with a community-led health organization in Africa, Asia, or the Americas. The model centered on one-to-one collaborations between students and local health groups to foster dialogue, collaboration, and mutual learning around contemporary global health challenges. The network operated from 2006 through the end of the 2022-23 academic year, engaging thousands of undergraduate students before its closure. GlobeMed's primary audience consisted of university students and their grassroots partners, with the aim of cultivating leadership in global health and social justice. In 2021, the organization announced the appointment of Mackenzie Burke as part of its leadership, reflecting continued organizational activity prior to its closure.
