Lamar Community College is a public, comprehensive community college located in Lamar, Colorado. It serves students from the primary service area of Baca, Cheyenne, Kiowa, and Prowers counties, along with learners from across the nation and the world. The college offers transfer degrees and career and technical education, including certificates and associate degrees, as well as developmental coursework and pre-college services, with bridge courses designed to help students complete a bachelor’s degree. Founded in 1937, LCC sits along historic routes on the southeastern Colorado plains and aims to adapt to the needs of the region and a global economy. It partners with regional businesses, government agencies, and nonprofit organizations to support workforce development and regional growth. In Spring 2026, the college plans to launch an Adult High School Diploma Program to provide a tuition-free path for adults to earn an accredited Colorado high school diploma.
