Lifeline Theatre explores, interprets, and reimagines books and other literary works to create stories that move us beyond the margins of our own lives. 2023-24 SEASON OUR 2023-24 MainStage season features a revival of Kurt Vonnegut’s popular novel Cat’s Cradle, followed by Nambi E. Kelley’s brilliant adaptation of Richard Wright’s powerful novel, Native Son. Our KidSeries production is the world premiere of Amy Timberlake’s beloved book, Skunk and Badger. Additionally, we’re thrilled to continue our festivals, the 27th Annual Fillet of Solo Festival, a two-week solo performance and storytelling festival; as well as the 3rd Annual Adaptation Development Workshop, a showcase that features BIPOC playwrights and their new works in process adapted from books or literary works. ACCESSIBILITY We believe that our Big Stories, Up Close should be accessible to everyone and offer these services: AUDIO DESCRIPTION (for patrons who are blind or have low vision) is a pre-recorded commentary on the visual elements of the performance by trained describers, including descriptions of the locations, costumes, and props, interspersed with the actors’ dialogue. CAPTIONING is for people with any level of hearing loss, featuring a text display of the words and sounds heard during a production. AUTISM/SENSORY-FRIENDLY performances (for people w/ social and/or cognitive disabilities) are relaxed and sensory-friendly theatre experiences designed to be more accessible to those individuals on the autism spectrum or to others with cognitive/developmental disabilities. SERVICES FOR PEOPLE WITH MOBILITY DISABILITIES • Wheelchair accessible seating and seats without stairs in our theatre • An accessible parking space in front of the theatre, available with advance request To make reservations for any special performance or any accessibility service may contact Accessibility Coordinator John Craig directly at 773-761-4477 x703 or access@lifelinetheatre.com.
