Hurricane Electric operates a global internet backbone and provides wholesale IP transit for both IPv4 and IPv6. It maintains what is described as the world's largest IPv4/IPv6 global network, with direct connectivity to more than 7,000 networks, over 180 peering points, and more than 150 points of presence across 103 cities worldwide. The company also runs three carrier-neutral data centers for colocating customer equipment in Fremont and San Jose, California. Its services are aimed at service providers and large enterprises that require scalable, reliable interconnection and broad global reach, enabling traffic exchange across thousands of networks and regions. In November 2025, Hurricane Electric announced a new Point of Presence at FiberState SLC1 in Salt Lake City to extend its network footprint.
